Jumping jack counter
Face the camera, get your whole body in frame and start jumping. Each jack counts when your arms come up and your feet go out, then back together.
Counting runs in your browser. Camera video never leaves your device, and nothing is recorded or stored.
How to set it up
- Prop your phone or laptop at about waist height, 2 to 3 meters (7 to 10 feet) away, facing you.
- Tap Count with camera and allow access.
- Step back until your hands above your head and your feet both fit in the frame.
- Jump. Each jack counts when you come back to the start.
What counts as a rep
The counter scores how open your "star" is: wrists above your shoulders and feet wider than your hips. A rep counts when you go from closed to open and back. Small half-jacks with low arms won't count, and fast jacks are fine.
Tips
- Leave space above your head in the frame. Hands that go out of view can be missed.
- Bright, even light helps the camera see your arms and feet.
- Land softly on the balls of your feet with knees slightly bent.
- For a quiet version, step out to the side instead of jumping. Bring your arms all the way up.
Jumping jack workouts
- Warm-up: 30 to 50 jacks before any workout.
- Quick cardio: 100 jacks as fast as clean form allows. Your reps per minute show below the counter.
- Ladder: 10 jacks, 5 squats, 5 push-ups, and repeat five times.
Questions
Is my video recorded or uploaded?
No. The counting runs in your browser and the video never leaves your device.
Does it count step jacks (low impact)?
Yes, if your arms go above your shoulders and your feet move out wide.
Why is it missing reps?
Make sure your hands stay in the frame at the top and your feet at the bottom. Step further back if needed.
